Poobong Tea Estate is a small mountain village in the Northern End of West Bengal in the Jorebunglow, situated between Sukhiapokhri and Ghoom, which is the highest altitude railway station in India. It is located in the lower Himalayan range at an elevation of 6,700ft. The Tea estate is spread in strips over a steep mountain ridge, hemmed by emerald –green tea plantations. It is 8 km from Ghoom railway station,15.4 kms (46mins) from Darjeeling town and half and hour drive towards Sukhiapokhri. Poobong Tea Garden can also be spelled as Pubong in Sukhiapokhri CD block in the Darjeeling Sadar.
